Dear pupils, dear parents/guardians,

The snow makes for beautiful scenery, but it also presents challenges for pupils and staff in getting to school. At Haarlem College, we follow the KNMI's advice during weather warnings. Think, for example, of a storm in autumn or – as now – snow in winter.

Code yellow
If code yellow is in effect, the school will be open and the normal timetable will apply. Leave on time and be careful on your journey. We will take into account class cancellations and latecomers.

At code orange
If there is code orange, the school will remain open, but the first and second periods will be cancelled. This will give everyone sufficient time to get to school safely and cautiously. We will make allowances for missed lessons and late arrivals.

When the code is red
If there is a code red, the school will be closed and lessons will be cancelled for the entire school day.

As a school, we are monitoring the news and will take further measures if the situation requires it. We will keep you informed via Magister.
