Introduction to vocational pathways
At the VMBO, Haarlem College introduces you to all four vocational pathways in the first year, namely Media & Design, Care & Welfare, Enterprise & Commerce, and Services & Products. The Services & Products pathway includes the elective vocational areas of Sport & Safety, Stage & Presentation, and Technology & Energy. In the second year, you will delve deeper into two vocational pathways.
Choosing a career path in the third year
Once you have a good understanding of the different vocational pathways after the first two years, it's time to make a choice. In the third year, you will choose one pathway in which you will also sit your exams. You still have a lot of freedom of choice: with elective subjects, you can put together your personal combination of subjects, thus choosing your own route to your diploma.
Havo at Haarlem College
Since last academic year, we've launched HAVO at Haarlem College. In addition to theory, we're also adding a practical component and focusing on future-oriented skills such as self-reliance, collaboration, and effective planning. So that you are even better prepared for your further education.
