All pupils have been placed
Just like last year, every pupil has been asked to indicate a preference for their secondary school. Many pupils have explored their options widely, visited open days, and have ultimately submitted their preferred schools.
For the 2026-2027 school year, 4664 pupils have registered at various schools in Zuid-Kennemerland, Velsen and Haarlemmermeer. The joint school boards can report that 95% of pupils have been placed at their first-choice school.
It is also worth noting that 99% of the pupils have been placed at a school from their top three choices.
For pupils who were unsuccessful in gaining a place at their first-choice school, the placement procedure has been carried out under the supervision of a notary.
Communication South Kennemerland
Students not placed at their first-choice school were telephoned personally on 8 April. On the same day from 15:00, schools will publish the names of admitted students (provided parental consent has been given) on their website.*.
Communications Haarlemmermeer and Velsen
Pupils who have not been placed at a first-choice school were contacted personally on 8 April. On the same day, from 3.00 PM, pupils who have been placed at their first-choice school will be informed by email.
Evaluation
In late June, the ‘application and registration’ scheme will be evaluated. The experiences of parents and teachers will be taken into account.
* Due to AVG legislation, Haarlem College has opted not to publish a list of names. All students who have been placed have now been contacted personally by email. If you have not received an email and your child did register, please contact us via administratie@haarlemcollege.nl or 023-5311572.
