All pupils have been placed

Just like last year, every pupil has been asked to indicate a preference for their secondary school. Many pupils have explored their options widely, visited open days, and have ultimately submitted their preferred schools.

For the 2025–2026 school year, 4,686 pupils have applied to various schools in Zuid-Kennemerland, Velsen and Haarlemmermeer. The joint school boards can confirm that 94% of the pupils have been allocated a place at their first-choice school. Furthermore, 99% of the pupils have been allocated a place at a school from their top three choices.

For pupils who were unsuccessful in gaining a place at their first-choice school, the placement procedure has been carried out under the supervision of a notary.

Evaluation

In late June, the ‘application and registration’ scheme will be evaluated. The experiences of parents and teachers will be taken into account.
