On 12 December, Haarlem College took part in Purple Friday. On this day, we drew attention to a safe and respectful school for all students, regardless of gender, orientation, or background. Students and staff wore purple clothing to show that everyone belongs.

Festive day

There was a programme in the Theatre for the first years, with optional activities such as a DJ during the break, an information stand and photo opportunities. The atmosphere was convivial, and we look back on this day with a positive feeling.

We want our pupils to feel safe and respected.

Experience shows that this topic can raise questions, as not everyone thinks the same way about it. What we at Haarlem College consider important is that every pupil feels safe and respected feels and can be themselves at our public school. We therefore entered into discussions with those who had a need for this.

We would be happy to contact parents/carers about how we can ensure our school remains a safe school for everyone all year round. Questions? Please contact your child(ren)'s class teacher.
