For the first time, a VMBO/HAVO school is participating in the Youth Council, and that is Haarlem College! No fewer than seven of our pupils are representing our school on this council. They are showing how The voice of young people is important and do this with a lot of enthusiasm, commitment and courage.
The Haarlem Youth Council is a group involved and motivated young people who help think about what's going on in the city. They advise the municipal council on issues affecting young people and fulfil a panel function: the local council can consult them to hear what young people consider important.
Throughout the school year, members collaborate on a plan or proposal which they present to the town council at the end of the year – a valuable way to to exert influence of their policy in Haarlem.
We are apetrots on these stars, who are committed to Haarlem and show what our pupils are capable of! And of course also Many thanks to the teachers who made this possible.
