Since 1 October to 19 December Can you report your child(ren) absent and sick via the Magister app. Until now, this was only possible by telephone. We are starting this change with a pilot.

A pilot is a person who operates the flying controls of an aircraft.

A pilot means we first to try out for a specific period. During this period, we will carefully examine the consequences. In this case, we will pay attention to, for example:

  • How often pupils reported sick.
  • Or if Easier and quicker It works for parents and school.

Once this is over, we will decide whether to continue offering the option to report sick leave and absences via Magister.

Why are we doing this?

  • Less phone traffic in the mornings.
  • More attention to presenceAttending school is very important for the learning and development of pupils. This pilot is a start of the conversation with parents on this subject.

Important points to consider:

  • Only parents are permitted to use the Magister parent account. Children logging in with the parent account can wrongly report themselves sick.
  • Report sick only when absolutely necessary. Illness is the biggest reason why pupils miss lessons. Across the Netherlands, we are seeing a decline in pupil attendance. Parents play a key role in this.

Ensuring presence together

We ask you to talk to your child about the importance of going to school. Together, we can ensure that pupils attend as many lessons as possible.
