School rules
To make your stay at Haarlem College as pleasant as possible for everyone, we have drawn up school rules together. We have deliberately kept the number of rules small, as we assume that everyone will treat each other with respect.
Responsibility
We believe it is important that everyone takes responsibility for this. Pupils can be held accountable for their behaviour by their own teachers, but also by other teachers and/or school staff. Parents and/or guardians are most welcome at Haarlem College. To avoid disappointment, however, we do ask you to make an appointment in advance with the mentor/teacher you wish to speak to.
Daily rules
- We only wear head coverings out of religious conviction.
- We are a healthy school, so energy drinks, vapes and smokingfree.
- We speak and respond to each other in a calm and respectful manner.
- We work according to the principle ‘out of the classroom, into the locker’. Pupils keep their phones in their lockers during lessons. During breaks or free periods, phones may (for the time being) be used.
- When you come to class, you are on time, you have your materials for the lesson with you, and you have been to the toilet.
- We remain on the school grounds during lesson time and during break.
- You may eat and drink in the assembly hall and outside. Dispose of your rubbish in the designated bins.
- For safety reasons, you should only walk on school grounds. You must walk your bicycle/moped. Leave the bike shed as quickly as possible.
- Fatbikes are to be placed immediately to the right in the schoolyard, on the side of the Van der Valk hotel.
- After school, you don't hang around in the school or on the school grounds.
- Pupils are available for school between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.
