Voluntary parental contribution

For costs not reimbursed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Haarlem College charges a voluntary parental contribution. These costs are not legally mandatory and are determined annually. Pupils whose parent(s)/guardian(s) do not pay this voluntary contribution will not be excluded from organised activities. However, if no parental contribution were requested, the Haarlem College would be forced to significantly reduce the extra activities related to the educational offerings and facilities for all pupils.

General contribution
The general parental contribution covers expenses for all pupils necessary for the smooth running of education, such as mentoring activities, sports activities, and contributions to projects.

Year-specific contribution
The year-specific contribution is for a number of expenses for extras that are not strictly necessary, but which enrich the education. The amount of the contribution has been determined based on activities for a school year or a (profile) class. We include the following expenses under year-specific contributions: school party, introductory week, school trip, work weeks, pen set, sports kit, apron/polo shirt, extra sports activities, career excursion, diploma ceremony, class outing.

The costs per academic year are divided into general costs and specific costs. In the download below, you can see what these costs are per academic year.
