Working on health at school
The Healthy School approach from the GGD (Public Health Services) is a practical method for providing support in the structural promotion of health at school. Our aim at Haarlem College, as a Healthy School, is to contribute to health gains and reduce health inequalities among our pupils and school staff, thereby making a healthy lifestyle the norm.
Better educational performance
Furthermore, a healthy lifestyle contributes to better educational attainment among our pupils.
At Haarlem College, a signalling structure has been established for the early detection of health issues and to anticipate them.
Mission
The mission of the Haarlem College is to weave a healthy lifestyle into the DNA of our school. Within our organisation, in collaboration with the GGD, we focus on various themes: Movement & Sport, Nutrition & Relationships, and Sexuality.
Collaborations and projects
We are organising various projects such as the performances of Kikid, working with sports foundations and external parties such as Triple Threat and also offer healthy breakfasts, school fruit and sugar-free snacks.
